Oc Eo culture introdution
Vietnam History Museum located in the city of Trang Tien, Hanoi has several extremely important events. One of them took place on the morning of 25/7. The Museum has organized the inauguration of the showroom "Eo - Phu Nam" to coordinate the participation of Ho Chi Minh city’s History Museum and the Vung Tau Museum.
Oc Eo culture is one of the ancient cultures, was formed and developed in the early 10 century AD in the South Plains area. This culture was first detected in Eo and Ba (An Giang). Then, it extends the scope of the southern provinces such as Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Tien Giang, Dong Thap, Can Tho...
The detailed exhibits
With more than 100 ancient treasures and artifacts on display, all this time is divided into 3 groups: Pottery; jewelry, metal artifacts and Buddhist groups & Hindu worship.
Group Pottery artifacts: There was a presence in most of the relics, and they are kind of traditional artifacts shown most clearly indigenous. All include three main types of household items, tools, labor and architectural ornaments. Popular product is the average household appliances such as pottery, jars, pots, lids, bowls, cups, bottles ... In particular; this type of stove is most characteristic; these are familiar items and essential inhabitants of the area river. Building materials and decorative plaques made of terra-cotta architectural relics also mainly in the architectural ruins of temples of Oc Eo culture.

Jewellery group objects and metal jewelry artifacts are composed of many types such as bracelets, rings, earrings, necklaces, beads ... They are made from fabrics such as gold, ice jade, agate, quartz, glass ... with many colors, sizes, different shapes. The notably is the embossed foil gold; molding carved decorative and ancient Sanskrit. In addition, there are seals, hand carved rings, animals, and all kinds of gold, silver, pewter...
Group Buddhist and Hindu worship is the worship Hindu and Buddhist stone and wood; a handful of copper; they are found in many relics and scattered across the South. Flourishing period of Hindu sculpture and Buddhism, here is from the fifth century to the seventh century. Sculptural style not only reflects the influence of unknown origin from Indian art, but also the localization trend. Traditional arts are also maintained and developed in later stages, from the eighth century onwards, but many researchers tentatively called the post Eo.
Gallery Culture Eo - Phu Nam has helped viewers see the value in many aspects of the artefacts on display. It contributes to a deeper understanding the history of Vietnam; it forms in the sense of protecting the national cultural heritage.
This morning, the National History Museum is celebrating receiving a number of documents, precious objects by a number of organizations and individuals to donate.
